Hello, I'm Dr. Scott McBrayer, DC, CCSP, EMT and I'd like to thank you for your time and the opportunity to tell you a little about me...

I grew up on a small NW Missouri farm that has been with our family for generations, complete with everything from crops, livestock, and miles of privacy. I have a younger sister, Crystal, and we were fortunate enough growing up to have a majority of our entire family within 30 minutes of us.  Over the years, we have lost some really important family members but that part of my life will always be home.

I have always had an interest in biology and an active, healthy lifestyle through sports. I spent the majority of my free time participating in football, basketball, track, baseball, and volleyball; earning all-conference and all-state recognition in high school. I consider myself very fortunate that I grew up in a chiropractic friendly family. Many more times than not, it was chiropractic health care that allowed me to not only stay competitive in sports but significantly improved all aspects of my life, naturally and without the side effects of drugs. I've been involved with chiropractic, getting my first adjustment at the age of 2, so it's easy for me to say from personal experience that I knew in high school what I'd do with my life.

I began the pursuit of my first degree at Missouri Western State College , earning my Bachelor of Science degree within 4 years. I then went on to Cleveland Chiropractic College of Kansas City for 4 more intense years of studying, walking away with my Doctor of Chiropractic degree as well as simultaneously electing to earn a second Bachelors degree, in advanced anatomy. I have obtained postgraduate certification by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). This additional education will allow me to work with local athletes/schools as a member of their health team while addressing sports injuries and emergency situations.  To further aid in my abilities to appropriately manage emergencies, I also obtained certification from Colorado Mesa University as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) as well.

I have a beautiful and amazing 22 year old daughter, Kyrsten, whom I have had full custody of since she was 1 year old.  For most of her life I have been a single father raising my daughter, and though it has been difficult at times to start a business as a single father, I will forever be indebted for the opportunity of such a wonderful gift as my daughter!  She currently works for KKCO TV here in Grand Junction as a news anchor and works in production as well, and I could not be more proud of her!

I am a graduate of the Mesa County Leadership Program, I have participated and helped in special olympics events, and have proudly served on the city's parks and recreation board as well as the city's Urban Trails Committee board.  So, Don't be surprised to see us around town, at sporting events, or other functions as we love to get out and support Grand Junction activities...and if you do see us, please say hi!

McBrayer Family Chiropractic is my office; it's my second baby you could say. It grows through hard work, ethical patient care, total patient satisfaction, and your word of mouth.  It's chiropractic care the way it should be!  Come in today, I'm sure you'll agree!
