Chiropractic Physiotherapy is the therapeutic application of agents to induce a physiological response in the body. It enhances or supports the chiropractic adjustment in an effort to normalize the body's natural processes and to halt and reverse tissue disease.

Forms of Physiotherapies offered in our office:

Ice packs: (Cryotherapy) Term that describes the application of ice compresses to reduce the temperature of tissues directly on or below the skin surface. Cryotherapy works on the surface, while reducing the nerve transmission of painful symptoms thereby providing temporary relief. This is highly effective in reducing and preventing post-traumatic swelling and inflammation.

Hot packs: (Diathermy) increase membrane permeability (vasodilation) and helps to relax muscle tissue. Typically we use these heat packs during routine chiropractic care, barring the onset of any specific and acute injuries.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation: increases circulation to vital soft tissues and stimulates nerves. Depending on the frequency, EMS can maintain ligament and muscle tone, offer pain relief, reduce muscle spasm, or exercise and fatigue muscles. This therapy is often used to treat acute or chronic pain; as well as strains or sprains of the muscles, joints, and soft tissues of the spine and extremities.

Ultrasound: Acoustical (sound) waves occurring at frequencies that produce heat to deep tissues. It is highly effective at softening scar tissue to increase range of motion and increase local blood flow to promote healing.

TENS units: mobile devices similar in nature to Electrical Muscle Stim, that are often worn by the patients when there is need. These units are specifically designed to provide application of electrical current through the skin to a peripheral nerve to control pain. These units are widely used and always benefit the patient.

Sombra lotion: Fast acting, deep penetrating topical analgesic pain relieving gel. This all natural gel is often used in conjunction with care and provides temporary relief of pain associated with simple aches, arthritis, spasms, sprains/strains, and bruises.
